Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Deputies Arrest an Out of State Wanted Fugitive
On Saturday May 16, 2026, at approximately 3:42 a.m., deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) took the listed subject into custody.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the subject was wanted in connection with the theft of a vehicle and personal belongings belonging to a U.S. serviceman from Aurora, who is currently deployed overseas and had hired the subject to care for his dog while away. During the investigation, the dog was found deceased inside the stolen vehicle. The subject’s last known address was in the Village of Palmetto Bay Florida.
Deputies initially responded to the residence to assist Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) during a medical call involving the subject’s father. During the incident, the subject interfered with rescue personnel and MDSO was called to assist. The Subject fled the residence to evade capture.
After canvassing the area, deputies provided a BOLO with the subject’s description to other deputies in the area. An off-duty deputy working at Jackson South Hospital was able to identify and apprehend the subject when he arrived at the hospital to visit his father who was transported there by MDFR.
The subject was transported to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGK), where he remains pending extradition to face charges.
For any information regarding the initial charges please reach out to the Aurora Colorado Police Department.
