Miami-Dade County announces Transportation Plan for FIFA World Cup 2026™ and FIFA Fan Festival™
On Monday, June 1, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) unveiled the county’s transportation plan for FIFA World Cup 2026™ and the FIFA Fan Festival™ during a press conference at the Golden Glades Intermodal Station.
Mayor Daniella Levine Cava was joined by DTPW Director and CEO Stacy L. Miller, P.E., FIFA World Cup 26™ Miami Host Committee President and CEO Alina T. Hudak, and regional transportation partners including Tri-Rail, Brightline, Uber, Broward County Transit, and public safety agencies as Miami-Dade County outlined how residents and visitors will move throughout South Florida during the tournament.
“FIFA World Cup 2026™ will bring the world to Miami-Dade County and showcase the energy, diversity, and spirit of our community on a global stage,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Our transportation plans reflect more than a year of coordination and preparation with regional and public safety partners to help create a safe, welcoming, and memorable experience for residents and visitors throughout the tournament. Miami-Dade County is proud to offer free shuttle service for verified ticket holders from official transportation hubs directly to Miami Stadium, helping fans spend less time worrying about traffic and more time enjoying this historic moment for our community.”
FIFA World Cup 2026™ runs from June 11 through July 19, with Miami-Dade County hosting seven matches at Miami Stadium in Miami Gardens. The FIFA Fan Festival™ at Bayfront Park will run from June 13 through July 5. Miami-Dade County expects more than 600,000 residents and visitors throughout the tournament.
“Successfully moving hundreds of thousands of people throughout FIFA World Cup 2026™ is the result of an unprecedented level of coordination, planning, and teamwork across our entire transportation network,” said Stacy L. Miller, P.E., Director and CEO of the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works. “DTPW’s mobility plan was built to give fans multiple reliable ways to travel across South Florida while helping reduce congestion, improve access to matches and Fan Fest events, and keep people moving safely and efficiently throughout one of the largest events our community has ever hosted.”
Verified ticket holders will have access to the free Miami Game Day Express shuttle service from four official transportation hubs:
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza Metrorail Station
• Golden Glades Intermodal Station / Tri-Rail
• Aventura Brightline Station
• Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
Amerant Bank Arena will also serve as a transportation hub for fans traveling from Broward County.
