Samantha Choon [email protected] 305-471-1900 Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Responds to Deadly Explosion; Investigation Ongoing On Monday, June 15, 2026, just after 10:00 a.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) deputies responded to the area of SW 87 Avenue and SW 61 Street regarding an explosion. On Monday, June 15, 2026, just after 10:00 a.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) deputies responded to the area of SW 87 Avenue and SW 61 Street regarding an explosion. Upon arrival, deputies observed a large amount of smoke and began evacuating people in the immediate area.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) responded and pronounced one adult male deceased on scene.  MDFR transported three adult males to a local hospital.  One of the adult males is an MDSO Lieutenant, who is in stable condition.  Another adult male is in critical, but stable condition and the other is in stable condition.  An additional adult male transported himself to a local hospital, he is also in stable condition. MIAMI-DADE ( June 15, 2026 )–

On Monday, June 15, 2026, just after 10:00 a.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) deputies responded to the area of SW 87 Avenue and SW 61 Street regarding an explosion.
