Annual Fourth of July Celebration at Tropical Park returns as Miami-Dade County's largest Independence Day event
Celebrating America 250 and launching Park and Recreation Month, the free event will feature musical acts, food vendors, special appearances, and a dazzling fireworks finale
The Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department (PROS) announces the return of the annual Fourth of July Celebration at Tropical Park, presented in partnership with TelevisaUnivision. The event, free and open to the community, will take place from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, at Tropical Park, located at 7900 SW 40th Street, Miami, FL 33155.
Miami-Dade County’s largest Independence Day event will be hosted by legendary Univision radio and television personality Javier Romero, who will be joined by various on-air personalities from 107.5 AMOR, MIX 98.3 and N+ Univision 23 Miami. The event will feature a lively lineup of live music, a diverse selection of food vendors, a Carnival Cruise Line Fun Zone for children, and themed photo opportunities. The celebration will conclude with a dazzling patriotic fireworks display over Tropical Park’s lake.
Confirmed musical performances include:
- Whiskey All Stars
- Celebrity Band 305
- Giselle
- Orlando Mendez
- Piso 21
Other special appearances include the Sons of the American Revolution presenting the color guard, as well as remarks from Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami-Dade County Board Chairman & District 10 Commissioner Anthony Rodriguez, and others.
Honoring America 250, the Fourth of July Celebration serves as the signature event of the Miami-Dade 250 Advisory Committee and its theme “We Are America: Miami’s Place in the Nation's Story,” commemorating the nation’s Semiquincentennial - 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
“This is more than an annual celebration; it is an opportunity to reflect on the values that unite us as a nation and to reaffirm our enduring commitment to uplifting the fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed to all of us under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. As we commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, we honor the opportunities, diversity, and shared aspirations that have shaped our country and continue to strengthen our community,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Our July 4th celebration will bring residents and visitors together to enjoy a day of family-friendly festivities, celebrate this historic milestone, and create lasting memories for generations to come.”
“The Fourth of July is a celebration that resonates deeply with the U.S. Hispanic community, and Univision is proud to be part of this historic milestone alongside Miami-Dade County. America's 250th anniversary belongs to all of us, and there is no better place to mark it than right here in Miami,” said Ismar Santa Cruz, TelevisaUnivision Sr. Vice President of Audio.
With Florida joining the United States in 1821, the region, home to Indigenous peoples including the Tequesta, Miccosukee, and Seminole Tribes, evolved into a vibrant and diverse community of opportunity. Today, Miami-Dade serves as the Gateway to the Americas and continues to help shape the American story through its rich cultural heritage, innovation, and global connections.
The Fourth of July Celebration also serves as the official kickoff to Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). From marinas and beaches to parks and Zoo Miami, with programs for all ages, there are countless ways for residents and visitors alike to celebrate the places and services that enrich quality of life.
The event is produced by PROS and made possible through the generous support of the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, AETNA, Uber, Braman Family 2011 Charitable Foundation, Baptist Health, Related Group, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO), Carnival Cruise Line, Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), Allen Morris, Lennar, Knight Foundation, NV2A/MasTec, Miami-Dade County Chairman and District 10 Commissioner Anthony Rodriguez, Fiserv, Terra, Borinquen Medical Centers, Ryder System, and Soccer 5.
