Customers can request new water and sewer service online through the Self-Service Application (SSA). The online process allows you to securely submit your application and receive a confirmation number for your request.
Before getting started, review the requirements below and have the necessary information available to complete your application.
Before submitting your Start Service request, please have the following information and documentation available:
A valid government-issued photo ID (driver license, passport, or state ID)
The service address where you would like to establish water and sewer service
Your current mailing address and contact information
Proof of property ownership or a signed lease agreement
Business customers must also provide:
Business name
Federal Tax Number or Employer Identification Number (EIN)
A $50 deposit is required for each water and sewer service. A non-refundable $45 service charge will be applied and included on your first bill.
Deposits are credited back after two years of good standing upon service termination.
Customers moving outside the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department service area must provide a forwarding address.
Existing SSA users: Log in to your account and select Apply for New Service.
New users: Create an SSA account, then select Apply for New Service.
Once logged in:
Complete the online application.
Review and submit your request.
Save your confirmation number for future reference.
After submitting your request, you will receive a confirmation number. Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department will review your application and notify you of its status.
If additional information is required, a Customer Service Representative will contact you.
New service requests are typically processed within 3 to 5 business days.
Note: Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department account information is considered a public record. However, Florida Statutes 119.071 provides for an exemption for specified individuals regarding the public information from being disclosed. If you qualify for this exemption, please fill out and send this form.
