Fit2Play After School Program
Children can enjoy fun, fully-supervised programs with activities focused on fitness, nutrition and wellness, as well as grow their appreciation of nature, science and the cultural arts.
The program runs on weekdays starting Aug. 17 through June 7, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., including winter and spring break, at 27 Miami-Dade parks.
The FIT2PLAY Afterschool Program (ages 6-14) curriculum was developed in 2009. It is a grounded curriculum intended to improve obesity in youth through active physical recreation and nutrition education. The curriculum also includes fun recreation games, lifetime sports (QuickStart tennis and SNAG golf) and nature-based conservation education.
The Fit2Play afterschool curriculum will also provide intentional and explicit opportunities for youth to acquire and practice social emotional skills in recreation activities and workshops that promote social, emotional, and physical health and fosters long-term academic and positive behavior trajectories.
An additional $11 weekly transportation fee will apply if your child is being picked up from an authorized school.
There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee for all sites including TCT locations. Registration is online in Park Link for all general afterschool sites. At the Children’s Trust (TCT) sites, you must register on site.
