Community Emergency Response Team Training
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.
The classroom training and team building exercises will help you acquire the skills needed to assist others in your neighborhood or workplace after an incident when professional responders are not immediately available to help. As a CERT member, you are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in your community.
If you're a team leader, please email your name, phone number and email address to the CERT coordinator to be notified once a meeting or training date is established.
To find out more before enrolling, check out the FEMA's Introduction to Community Emergency Response Teams online independent study course.
Additionally, CERT provides Extreme Weather Preparedness Training for extreme heat, flooding, hurricanes and more. For more information on how to join the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program email [email protected].
