Request an Appeal for a Fire Code Violation

If you believe you have incorrectly been issued a notice of violation, or that the violation cited is not applicable to your occupancy classification, you may appeal any action or decision to the Miami-Dade County Fire Prevention and Safety Appeals Board.

A Fire Prevention & Safety Appeals Board Application must be filed with the Miami-Dade County Fire Prevention and Safety Appeals Board within 30 days of the Notice of Violation.

Upon receipt of your completed application and your $275.00 non-refundable fee, the appeal will be placed on the agenda of the next regularly scheduled meeting provided the application and fee are submitted prior to the filing deadline. Applications received past the filing deadline will be added to the following meeting's agenda.

As per Section 14-36 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, filing of a written notice of appeal shall not stay the effect of any action or decision which is the subject of the appeal.
