Request an Appeal for a Fire Code Violation

public-safety fire-rescue all-residents apply-for You may request an appeal of any Notice of Violation issued to you by a fire official. <p>If you believe you have incorrectly been issued a notice of violation related to a violation of the Florida Fire Prevention Code, the Code of Miami- Dade County Chapter 14, or any other fire safety code enforced by a municipal fire department, or that the violation cited is not applicable to your occupancy classification, you may appeal any action or decision to the Miami-Dade County Fire Prevention and Safety Appeals Board.  If you were issued a Uniform Civil Violation Notice, also known as a “Citation”, the proper appeal process is through a hearing officer; information on the appeals process is available at <a href="https://www.miamidadeclerk.gov/clerk/code-enforcement.page">Code Enforcement (miamidadeclerk.gov)</a>.  The Fire Prevention & Safety Appeals Board is unable to adjudicate any citations.</p> <p>A Fire Prevention & Safety Appeals Board Application must be filed with the Miami-Dade County Fire Prevention and Safety Appeals Board within 30 days of the Notice of Violation.</p> <p>Upon receipt of your completed application and your $$298.38 non-refundable fee, the appeal will be placed on the agenda of the next regularly scheduled meeting provided the application and fee are submitted prior to the filing deadline. Applications received past the filing deadline will be added to the following meeting's agenda.</p> <p>As per Section 14-36 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, filing of a written notice of appeal shall not stay the effect of any action or decision which is the subject of the appeal.</p> <hr /> <h2>Appeals Board Meetings</h2> <p>The Miami-Dade Fire Prevention and Safety Appeals Board generally meets on the last Thursday of every odd numbered month at 9:30 a.m. at Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Headquarters located at 9300 NW 41 ST, Doral FL 33178.</p> <p>Appeals are heard in the order listed on the agenda, except at the pleasure of the Board.</p> noFee

We have response units dedicated to air rescue service, ocean rescue, fire and rescue operations, marine, hazardous materials (HazMat), urban search and rescue (US&R), technical rescue, and venom response.</p> <p>Our rescue services include aero-medical transport to trauma centers and other medical facilities. Our air rescue helicopters are also used to perform search and rescue missions, and firefighting and reconnaissance operations involving large incidents, such as wildfires and major fires.</p> <p>We also have full-time and part-time professional lifeguards protecting Haulover and Crandon beaches.</p> <p>We support disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation needs.
