Fire and Fall Safety Program for Older Adults

Knowing what to do in the event of a fire or a fall is particularly important for older adults. The Fire and Fall Safety Program for Older Adults, which is free of charge, is built around key safety messages presented in a fun and interactive environment for groups of older adults.

Topics covered in this program include kitchen fire safety, smoke alarms, home escape planning and fall prevention in the kitchen and bathroom. Training must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.

All presentations require a minimum of five participants and last one hour. Presentations are only available to adult daycare centers, medical centers, community groups and adult living facilities serviced by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
