Fit2Play is a health, wellness and obesity prevention after-school program. Kids will enjoy fun, fully-supervised programming after school with activities focused on fitness, nutrition and wellness, and developing their appreciation of nature, science and the cultural arts.

Each day's session begins with Sports, Play and Active Recreation for Kids (SPARK) activities and homework help during the school year.

Some park locations host an exclusive Fit2Play program for children and adults with disabilities, ages 6-22.

The afterschool program will be held August 20, 2018 through June 6, 2019, 2–6 p.m., Monday–Friday. The program runs during vacation breaks.

Price ranges from $25 to $35 per week. Qualifying families may receive financial aid based on the availability of funds. There is a non-refundable $15 registration fee.

For an additional charge, transportation is available from some schools to park sites.

Physical Fitness

Camp leaders are trained recreation professionals, and certified physical fitness and nutrition specialists. With parental permission, registrants may participate in the UHealth StudyPDF used to track fitness levels, nutritional needs and progress. Physical fitness assessments include a sit-and-reach test, timed sit-up and push-up test, pacer test, and 400-meter run.

Under the supervision of Miami-Dade Parks certified therapeutic recreation specialists, registrants with disabilities can choose to participate in groups composed exclusively of kids with disabilities or alongside children without disabilities.

Support the Fit2Play™ Scholarship Fund

Donate to the Fit2Play Scholarship Fund to help at-risk youth attend Miami-Dade Parks' Fit2Play Health, Wellness and Obesity Prevention Afterschool program.

Your donation will help kids have a safe place to go after school where they will receive homework help, participate in physical fitness activities, learn about nutrition and lifelong sports like golf and tennis, keeping them engaged, learning, active and off the streets.
