The Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program offers funding opportunities for small owned and operated businesses to purchase equipment, supplies, advertising/marketing, inventory, building liability insurance, security systems and to make minor renovations.
All businesses must be located in the specified county commission district
Must be a for-profit business
Must not be part of a national chain
A physical address is required
Supporting documentation must be provided (W-9, Municipal Local Business Tax Certificate, any applicable licenses, etc.)
Home-based businesses can apply
Additional criteria may be required, based on commission district. Review the guidelines section of the application.
Districts accepting applications:
District 2 - May 27 - June 10 (Applications can be picked up in-person or online)
District 6 - June 2-23 (Applications must be picked up in-person at the District Office)

Small business owners in Miami-Dade County’s District 2 may now apply for up to $10,000 in grant funding through Commissioner Marleine Bastien’s Small Business Grant Program.
Applications are available for download online or may be picked up in-person at Commissioner Bastien’s District Office, 915 NE 125th St., Suite 2A, Miami, FL 33161. The application period begins Tuesday, May 27, and ends Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Completed applications will be accepted from Thursday, June 12, through Thursday, June 19, 2025. All applications must be hand-delivered to the District Office. There is a mandatory workshop on Thursday, June 5, at 6 p.m. at the Father Gerard Jean-Juste Community Center at Oak Grove Park.
Small Business owners in Miami-Dade County’s District 6 can now apply to receive up to $5,000 in grant funding from Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis’ Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. Applications will be available starting June 2, 2025, and must be picked up in person at the District 6 Office, located at 1000 SW 57th Ave., Suite 201, Miami, FL 33144. Completed applications must be submitted between June 16 and June 23, 2025, by 4 p.m.

Small business owners in District 10 can apply for Commissioner Anthony Rodriguez’s Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program and receive up to $5,000 in grant funding.
Applications will be available June 2 through June 13 and can be downloaded online or can be picked up at the District 10 office, located at 7146 SW 117th Ave, Miami, FL 33183. Completed applications must be hand-delivered in a sealed envelope to the district office between June 16 and June 23 from 10 am to 3 pm. (The office will be closed June 19.)
