How can I renew my auto tag registration?
The State of Florida requires a motor vehicle to be registered within (10) days of the owner becoming employed, placing children in public school, or establishing residency.
The registration certificate, or an official copy, is required by Florida Statute to be in the possession of the operator of the motor vehicle, or carried in the vehicle at all times. Current law provides a maximum of 12 - 24 months registration.
Renewal information on a current motor vehicle record is maintained on the State’s database. That information is used for renewal notices. Florida Statute does not require DMV to provide renewal notices for motor vehicle registration. Notices are provided as a courtesy.
Motor vehicle registration may be renewed in person, online or by mail.
