The Miami-Dade County Behavioral Health Advisory Board (BHAB) was established by
Ordinance No. 24-8 in 2024, which also created Article XLV of the Miami-Dade County Code of Florida (“Code”).
The membership of the BHAB reflects the diverse perspectives and expertise needed to address behavioral health issues in Miami-Dade County so that the needs of individuals affected by behavioral health disorders are effectively addressed.
The BHAB’s responsibilities include: assisting public and private entities in addressing matters impacting individuals affected by behavioral health disorders, creating a coordinated system of care, ensuring adequate capacity so that citizens in crisis have access to quality behavioral health and substance use disorder services, increasing access to quality care and providing direct linkages to community-based services.
