Small business owners in Miami-Dade County's District 1 can apply for up to a $5,000 grant from Chairman Oliver Gilbert's annual Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. Applications are available through Feb. 15 online and District 1 Office, 17988 NW 27th Avenue or Neighbors and Neighbors Association (NANA), 5120 NW 24th Avenue.
Completed applications will be accepted Feb. 16-24 and must be hand-delivered in a sealed envelope to the District 1 Office.
Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III, has assigned new Miami-Dade County Commission committees and named the commissioners who will serve as chair and vice chair. Among the eight total committees, five will be led by women commissioners for the first time – a new direction for the 2023 board and an accomplishment ahead of the 50-year commemoration of the U.S. Congress designation of Women’s Equality Day.
Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III, Miami-Dade County Commissioner for District 1, and Vice Chairman Anthony Rodriguez, who represents District 10, were installed as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m. at Hard Rock Stadium.
