About Commissioner Micky Steinberg

Commissioner Micky Steinberg was re-elected unopposed in 2026 to continue representing District 4 on the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners. District 4 spans the northeastern portion of Miami-Dade County and encompasses areas within 13 municipalities, including Golden Beach, Aventura, North Miami Beach, North Miami, Sunny Isles Beach, Surfside, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, Biscayne Park, Indian Creek, Miami Beach, Miami Shores, North Bay Village, as well as unincorporated areas of Miami-Dade County.

A trusted and experienced public servant, Commissioner Steinberg is known for her commitment to addressing the County’s most pressing issues. Before joining the County Commission, she was elected to the Miami Beach City Commission in 2013 and was re-elected unopposed in 2017. Throughout her tenure at City Hall, she emphasized collaboration and results-driven leadership, advancing stronger ethics policies, promoting sustainability and resiliency initiatives, advocating for human rights protections, pursuing strategies to ease daily traffic congestion, and supporting improvements to local schools.

Her dedication to civic engagement extends well beyond elected office. Commissioner Steinberg previously represented the City of Miami Beach on the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization Board. She has also served on the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority Committee and the Miami Beach Police Citizens Relations Committee. In addition, she has been actively involved with nonprofit organizations, including the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami. In recognition of her service and leadership, she was honored as a Woman of Valor by the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center.

Commissioner Steinberg currently serves as Chair of the Infrastructure, Innovation and Technology Committee, Vice Chair of the Recreation, Tourism, and Resiliency Committee, and is a member of the Appropriations Committee. She also serves as Chair of the Biscayne Bay Watershed Management Advisory Board and is a member of the Biscayne Bay Commission and represents District 4 on the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization Board.

A licensed real estate professional, Commissioner Steinberg is married to attorney Richard Steinberg. Together, they are the proud parents of two children.
