René Garcia is a product of Northwest Dade. He was born and raised in the City of Hialeah. Commissioner Garcia’s passion for serving his community began more than 20 years ago as a Councilman in the City of Hialeah. As a State Representative, and then as a State Senator, Rene focused on helping those most in need. Giving a voice to the voiceless has always been Rene’s number one priority.

Mom and Pop Small Business Grants

Small Business owners in Miami-Dade County’s District 13 can now apply to receive up to $2,500 in grant funding from Senator Rene Garcia’s Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. Applications can be downloaded online or picked up at the District 13 Office through Thursday, Feb. 29.

Completed applications will be accepted from Friday, March 1 through Friday, March 8, by 4 p.m. at the District 13 Office, 1490 West 68th Street, Suite 101, Hialeah, FL 33014.

Senator René García Leads Efforts to Establish Miami-Dade County Behavioral Health Advisory Board

The purpose of the Behavioral Health Advisory Board is to assist public and private entities address certain matters impacting individuals in this community affected by behavioral health disorders. The goal is to establish a coordinated system of care, ensuring ample capacity to provide citizens in crisis with access to high-quality behavioral health and substance use disorder services.
