Meet Kole

Kole Redmond is just like any 13-year-old boy; he likes to go to school and see his friends, play videogames and sports. It was while playing basketball that he first knew something was wrong with his leg. What his family thought was just a normal sports injury ended up being a tumor in his right femur. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma, he had part of his bone removed and replaced with a metal rod.  

Now, the teen is being treated by Dr. Matteo Trucco at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and has 17 more weeks of chemotherapy before he can go back to school in January. Although he is getting impatient to return, he feels blessed.  There are others who may not be as fortunate as me, he says.
