City of Miami Accepts My Brother's Keeper Community Challenge

In Nov. 2014, The City of Miami accepted the White House’s My Brother’s Keeper Community Challenge and implemented local initiatives to support boys and young men of color.
  • A College Signing Day celebration took place at each of five public high schools in the City of Miami. In total, more than 1,700 senior students participated in those events. The events were organized by the City of Miami Office of the Mayor in collaboration with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) and Miami Dade College (MDC).

    The participating schools are listed below with the number of senior students who attended the events.

    • Miami Northwestern Senior High School
    • Booker T. Washington Senior High School
    • Miami Edison Senior High School
    • Miami Jackson Senior High School
