Keep mosquitoes out of your outdoor plans

With spring flowers and May showers, you may notice an increase in mosquitoes. With more than 50 mosquito species in Miami-Dade County year-round, control methods are necessary regardless of season.
It's essential to protect yourself and those around you from the potential risks of mosquito-borne diseases by taking precautions such as using insect repellent, wearing protective clothing, and eliminating any standing water in your environment. Take control of the situation and ensure a safe and healthy spring season.
The Mosquito Control Division remains fully staffed and will employ preventive and reactive treatments driven by mosquito surveillance data collected from 320+ trap sites, resident complaints, and disease referrals from the Florida Department of Health.
Check back during Florida Mosquito Week, April 14 to 20, for specialized mosquito control tips and information on social media and online events.
