Recycle right on America Recycles Day

On Nov. 15, celebrate America Recycles Day with the Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM). This annual event serves to raise awareness of the importance of recycling and encourage residents to recycle properly and participate in all available recycling opportunities.
Join in the fun with a vareity of free family-friendly events designed to educate, engage and inspire our community to Recycle Right.
- Paper Shredding and Home Chemical Drop-Off

Residents can shred up to 2 boxes of paper per household. Acceptable items include old electronics, paint, pesticides, pool chemicals, propane tanks, lithium batteries and more. New or almost new home chemicals are also available for free. All products are available on a first-come, first-serve bases while supplies last. There will be great food, good vibes and hand-on recycling activities. Get up close to a recycling truck, watch live demonstrations and get exper tips on how to Recycle Right. Additionally, take the Recycle Right pledge for a free reusable tote (limit one per household, while supplies last).
