Adopt-a-Tree Sept. 6

Since its inception in 2001, the Adopt-a-Tree Program has distributed more than 250,000 trees to county residents.

The third Adopt-A-Tree event of the season will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or until trees run out Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center located at 10950 SW 211th Street, Miami, FL 33189. Parking is free.

Adopt-a-Tree and bring home a furry friend through Adopt a Pet!

Exchange up to two non-high-efficiency showerheads and three incandescent light bulbs for high-efficiency showerheads and energy-efficient light emitting diode (LED) light bulbs free while supplies last.

Trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration does not guarantee tree availability but does verify eligibility.

The planned tree selection for Sept. 6 includes the following: Bahama Strongbark, Barbados Cherry, Black Ironwood, Firebush, Grafted Carambola, Grafted Mango, Jaboticaba, Jackfruit, Jamaican Caper, June Plum, Krug's Holly, Pearl Berry, Red Mulberry and White Stopper.
