Library Card Sign-up Month is celebrated every September. The annual event highlights the importance and value of having a library card as the key to unlocking incredible resources, services and programs available at your local library, and encourages people of all ages to sign up for one.

A library card can help you save money, providing you with access to a wide variety of materials, resources and services.

With a library card, you can:

•    Check out books, eBooks, eAudiobooks, movies (digital and DVDs), music and digital magazines
•    Read online newspapers, including the Miami Herald, NYTimes and Wall Street Journal
•    Borrow Wi-Fi hotspots and laptops and tablets with built-in internet that you can check out to use at home
•    Check out museum passes for free entry into local museums and cultural venues
•    Get free homework help and tutoring in reading, math and science by certified teachers for students grades K-12 in Miami-Dade County
