With Memorial Day approaching, boaters nationwide are urged to prioritize safety during National Safe Boating Week, which runs from May 16-22, 2026. This annual campaign highlights the importance of preparing early to ensure a safe and enjoyable time on the water before the busy summer season peaks.
As boating activity increases in the coming months, boaters can take a few simple steps that can help protect themselves, their passengers, and others on the waterways, including wearing life jackets, completing safety courses, conducting thorough vessel safety checks and ensuring all equipment is in proper working order before heading out on the water.
