Learn CPR to save a life

Observed from June 1–7, National CPR and AED Awareness Week highlights the life-saving impact of bystanders who perform CPR and use Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) during cardiac emergencies. With over 70 percent of cardiac arrests occurring at home or in public settings, access to CPR training is more important than ever.

Hands-only CPR involves delivering 100-120 chest compressions per minute to help sustain blood flow until professional help arrives. Increasing public knowledge of CPR and the use of AEDs can significantly improve survival rates.

You can make a difference by enrolling in CPR/AED courses through organizations like the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or by joining local events hosted by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s HELP Program featuring pediatric and adult hands-on CPR training.
