RER recognized with 6 national awards

August 20, 2026 — Regulatory and Economic Resources

The Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) recently received six awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo). These awards recognize innovative and effective county programs that enhance services for residents.

Three winning initiatives in the Community and Economic Development category were the RER Building Enforcement Unit Revenue and Operational Realignment, the RER Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) Compliance and Environmental Protection Program and the RER Fast Track Permitting Program.

The other three awards were as follows:

In the Financial Management category – the RER Food and Beverage Tax Settlement Program
In the Personnel Management, Employment, and Training category – Modernizing Recruitment: The RER Human Resources (HR) Recruitment Tracker
In the County Administration and Management category – the RER Subdivision Improvement Bond Program Modernization
