Students can earn 20 service hours by exploring the world of transportation

The Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) is excited to share Next Stop: Transportation 101 – Power Hour, the first-ever interactive virtual transportation educational course created by the TPO, under the guidance of Miami-Dade County School Board Member Roberto Alonso for high school students in grades 9-12 in Miami-Dade County.

The course introduces how Miami-Dade County transportation system works, why safety matters and how transportation planning shapes daily travel and future career opportunities.

Before a student can take the course:

• A parent or guardian must register the student
• Complete a brief 2-minute survey
• Provide permission for their child to participate in the course 

The course must be completed no later than Friday, Dec. 11. 

Student will be awarded 20 volunteer hours that can be applied toward graduation requirements. 

Together, we can help students fulfill their volunteer hour requirements while inspiring them to become informed and engaged in shaping the future of transportation.
