Mayor Daniella Levine Cava released the following statement. On Saturday, December 31, long-time public servant and Miami-Dade’s Clerk of Courts, Harvey Ruvin, passed away at the age of 85. Ruvin was Miami-Dade County’s longest-serving elected official, completing seven consecutive terms as the county’s clerk supervising the Dade County court system.  Mayor Daniella Levine Cava released the following statement: “Our community was heartbroken to learn of  Harvey Ruvin’s sudden death. For decades, he was a fearless leader and a true public servant, embodying the best of government. Harvey was one of a kind: caring, visionary and wise. I’m lucky to have also known Harvey as a dear friend. He taught me so much about our environment, about good government, and about leading a life anchored in service.  A light has been extinguished in our community and beyond. MIAMI-DADE ( January 01, 2023 )–

On Saturday, December 31, long-time public servant and Miami-Dade’s Clerk of Courts, Harvey Ruvin, passed away at the age of 85. Ruvin was Miami-Dade County’s longest-serving elected official, completing seven consecutive terms as the county’s clerk supervising the Dade County court system.

Mayor Daniella Levine Cava released the following statement:
