Miami-Dade County Solid Waste Management’s schedule for 2023 MLK holiday

The Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has released the schedule of services for the upcoming Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday on Monday, January 16, 2023.

Curbside Waste and Trash Collection Service

DSWM will not collect garbage or bulk trash on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023. DSWM waste collection customers who are regularly serviced on Monday are asked to not place their green waste carts at the curb that day. Waste collection for Monday customers will take place on their next regularly scheduled collection day, Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023.

Please take into consideration that waste collection on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, may take longer than usual, due to the high volume of waste expected to be placed at the curb. Customers are asked to be patient, as crews will work throughout the day until all routes are serviced.

Curbside Recycling Collection Service

Curbside recycling collection service will take place on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, as scheduled. DSWM curbside recycling service customers whose every-other-week recycling collection day falls on that Monday are advised to place their blue recycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on Jan. 16, 2023.

Disposal Facilities

The following DSWM facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023:

• All Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers
• Central, West and Northeast Regional Transfer Stations

The following DSWM facilities will be open on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, and will observe normal operating hours:

• North and South Dade Landfills
• Resources Recovery Facility

Administrative Offices

The DSWM Administrative Offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023.
