            Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, the Department of Transportation and
               Public Works (DTPW), Friends of The Underline, along with elected officials and project
               stakeholders will celebrate the groundbreaking of the third and final phase of The
               Underline project. 
            <p>Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, the Department of Transportation
               and Public Works (DTPW), Friends of The Underline, along with elected officials and
               project stakeholders will celebrate the groundbreaking of the third and final phase
               of The Underline project.</p>
               <p>The Underline will be a 10-mile linear mobility corridor along the Metrorail and
               will transform 120 acres of County-owned land below the existing Metrorail guideway
               from the Miami River (Downtown) to the Dadeland South Metrorail Station into a first-class
               multimodal corridor.</p>
               <p>Phase 3 of The Underline is a 7.36-mile segment that connects from SW 19th Ave
               near the Vizcaya Metrorail station to the Dadeland South Metrorail station. The entire
               segment links numerous diverse communities including City of Miami, Coral Gables,
               South Miami, and Unincorporated Miami-Dade County. Once finished, this phase will
               provide separated pedestrian and bicycle paths, improvements to over 30 intersections,
               access to public transportation, public Wi-Fi, enhanced lighting, and wayfinding.</p>
               <p>The Underline corridor will improve both pedestrian and bicyclist safety while
               also enhancing connectivity and access to eight Metrorail stations along the path.</p>

                  and Venetian Causeways</a>.</p>
                  <p>We manage the County Stormwater Utility for flood and water quality protection
                  and maintain the secondary canal system.</p>
                  <p>Permits for all work within rights-of-way and code enforcement of unpermitted work
                  is also handled by our <a href="/global/transportation/public-works/home.page">Public
                  Works</a> division.</p>
