No Swim Advisory boundaries reduced for Virginia Key area

After two days of compliant results, the boundaries for the no-swim advisory that was issued on September 19, due to a wastewater overflow which occurred and was contained onsite at the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department’s Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant, have been reduced.

Only the Marine Stadium Marina area remains under a no-swim advisory. Signs will remain posted at this location.

Miami-Dade County’s Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) will continue to sample the remaining area and the advisory will stay in effect until two consecutive days of clear testing occur.
