Miami-Dade County and the South Florida Water Management District to release 2023 Biscayne Bay Economic Study
Miami-Dade County, in partnership with The South Florida Water Management District, will host a press conference to announce the release the 2023 Biscayne Bay Economic Study. This updated study stemmed from a recommendation from the Biscayne Bay Task Force to revise the 2005 Biscayne Bay Economic Study and offer new insights into the economic value Biscayne Bay brings to Miami-Dade County and the State of Florida. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board will make the official announcement.
The updated Biscayne Bay Economic Study includes:
• Overall Economic Contribution
• Recreational Use Intensity
• Shipping and Cruise Ship Operations
• Property Values Impact
The study reaffirms the immense importance of Biscayne Bay to Miami-Dade County, the southeast region, and the broader Florida community, supporting numerous industries, such as recreation, tourism, shipping, and commercial fishing, and breathtaking views which generate billions of dollars in revenue annually.
