Miami-Dade County seniors receive checks as part of the Save Our Seniors program
This month, Miami-Dade County’s eligible residents will receive a $617 check as part of the Save Our Seniors Homeowners' Relief Fund. Older adults ages 65 and above who do not receive Florida’s Homestead Long-Term Senior Exemption qualify to receive the one-time increased payment starting mid-December. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava passed a historic tax cut for the second year in a row, continuing to offer much-needed relief to residents – and in the 2023-24 County budget, the County invested an additional $18 million in the Save our Seniors Program to provide additional support to our older adults.
“As our economy continues to grow, costs are also rising. It is critical that we make sure our residents, especially our seniors, can continue to live and thrive here,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “My hope is that this check will help with some year-end expenses and bring some relief to those who need it most.”
While our community continues to experience an unprecedented affordability crisis, the county is fighting to help the hardest-hit families get back on their feet by supporting small businesses, creating relief programs, and growing our local economy. The Save our Seniors program is an opportunity to strengthen our community by prioritizing investments in our greatest asset, our almost 3 million residents.
