Water solicitation notices left at homes NOT affiliated with the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department
Water solicitation notices have been left at homes within the Village of Miami Shores. Please be advised these notices requesting feedback are not affiliated with the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD).
This is not the first time that door hangers or flyers have been disseminated throughout the County – with some even offering free water tests. The aim of some of these sampling opportunities is to promote selling and installing water filtration systems at homes.
Water filters are NOT needed to use Miami-Dade’s high quality drinking water.
This most recent instance of cards insinuate that the County’s water has violated safety standards, which is not the case.
“I want everyone to know that Miami-Dade County’s water is excellent and meets all national drinking water standards,” said WASD Director Roy Coley. “We test the water at our accredited labs more than 150,000 times a year. If you ever have a question about the quality of your drinking water, you should contact our Lab Division staff directly.”
Customers who have questions about their drinking water or want to request a free water test should call 786-552-4738 if they live north of Southwest Eighth Street or 786-552-4181 if you live south of Southwest Eighth Street.
WASD also issues its Water Quality Report every year. The current report is based on 2022’s information.
It is the priority of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department to provide safe, reliable service to its customers. For additional information about Department services and programs, visit the WASD website.
