          Today, in celebration of National Poetry Month, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava announced that Caridad Moro-Gronlier will serve as Miami-Dade's next Poet Laureate. Moro-Gronlier is an award-winning, community-driven poet who is also a career educator and published author.  

          “We are making history once again by appointing Caridad as Miami-Dade’s next poet laureate, the first woman in this role,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “As Mayor, I have worked to increase access to the arts, as essential to a healthy community and a doorway for civic engagement, inclusion and positive social change. Together with our new poet laureate, we are leveraging the arts to continue to be the most accessible and culturally enriched county in the country.
