Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust statement on the murder of two homeless individuals in downtown Miami
MIAMI-DADE ( January 16, 2025 )–
The murder of at least two members of our unhoused community and the hospitalization of two others is tragic. While we grieve the senseless loss of these lives, the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust remains committed and determined to get every person off the streets and into safe housing.
Our deep appreciation to Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales and his team at the Miami Police Department for their swift apprehension of a suspect in this senseless set of murders and attacks on our community’s most vulnerable and for what we know will be an aggressive prosecution by State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle’s office.
