Miami-Dade County Parks to host its 5th annual Black History Month Showcase
The Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department is proud to announce the 5th annual Black History Month Showcase “African Americans & Labor” on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 2 P.M. to 7 at the JL Enid W Demps Park in Miami. This year's event, themed “African Americans & Labor”, will celebrate the immense contribution of African Americans to the labor movement and their enduring influence in shaping workforce culture across the nation.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Retired Miami-Dade Police Department Director Stephanie Daniels will deliver a special address, setting the tone for an inspiring afternoon. Attendees can look forward to an engaging lineup, including performances by local schools, vibrant art exhibitions, cultural dance showcases, spoken-word presentations, and live music.
In addition, the event will offer a Kids Fun Zone, local vendors, food trucks and a variety of other activities - making it a family-friendly celebration of culture, history, and community. This event is free and open to the public. Everyone is encouraged to join in on celebrating the ongoing influence and legacy of African Americans in the labor movement and beyond.
