Recycling collection days to change for Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management customers north of SW 88th Street

Beginning April 1, 2025, approximately 119,000  curbside residential recycling customers, north of SW 88th Street, will have a new recycling collection day. This change will improve the efficiency, reliability, and resiliency of recycling services for the Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM).

Key Details:

• Affected customers will receive a postcard in the mail notifying them of their new recycling collection day for April and May.
• A new recycling calendar for the remainder of 2025 will be mailed in late May.
• Customers who do not receive a postcard will continue with their current collection days. This includes customers living south of SW 88th Street (North Kendall Drive), where recycling days will remain the same.
• Customers can check their recycling collection day by visiting https://gisweb.miamidade.gov/communityservices/.

This change is part of a broader initiative to increase efficiencies in the Department’s operations.  The new curbside recycling contracts will incorporate state-of-the-art technology, such as GPS tracking and video capabilities to help curb recycling contamination and enhance resilience in Miami-Dade County.

By refining the collection process, DSWM aims to better serve the community and increase the effectiveness of its curbside recycling program.
