Miami-Dade County to break ground on Rainbow Village/Rhapsody Apartments, new affordable housing development in City of Miami
On Thursday, June 5th, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami-Dade County District 3 Commissioner Keon Hardemon, City of Miami District 5 Commissioner Christine King, and Matthew Rieger, CEO of the Housing Trust Group, will break ground on Rainbow Village/Rhapsody, a new affordable housing development in the City of Miami.
Rainbow Village/Rhapsody will feature 310 residences, including 30 studio apartments, 163 one-bedroom units, 85 two-bedroom units, 28 three-bedroom units, and four four-bedroom units. The development will also offer 442 parking spaces, and residents will enjoy a variety of amenities, such as a resort-style swimming pool, business center, lounge area, daycare, playground, covered and open courtyards, theater room, community center with kitchen, juice bar, bike storage room, state-of-the-art fitness center, study and play areas, onsite generators, and a fire pit area. There will also be retail space.
Residents will benefit from additional services, including resident assurance check-ins and assistance with light housekeeping, grocery shopping, laundry, and participation in various community events and daily activities. The completion date is set for 2027.
Rainbow Village will be reserved for income-qualifying residents earning at or below 30%, 50%, 60%, 70%, and 80% of the area median income (AMI).
Miami-Dade County has provided a $500,000 grant, a $3.1 million HCD seller note, and a $3 million HCD HOME Loan from HCD.
