PortMiami named best cruise port by Global Traveler for third consecutive year
PortMiami has been named Best Cruise Port by Global Traveler magazine for the third consecutive year, as part of its 13th Annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards. The winners were recognized at an event at the InterContinental Miami on May 22, and are also featured in Global Traveler’s May Leisure Travel Issue.
“PortMiami continues to break records and uphold its status as the Cruise Capital of the World®,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “This recognition highlights PortMiami’s commitment to excellence in passenger experience, infrastructure and sustainability. I also extend my heartfelt congratulations to the entire seaport team and our valued cruise line partners on reaching this extraordinary achievement.”
Global Traveler conducted a survey of its readers from September 20, 2024, to January 30, 2025, with open-ended questions for the best in many categories of leisure, luxury, and lifestyle travel. The survey was published in the magazine, as an insert within subscriber copies, as a direct mail questionnaire, online, and was emailed.
Hydi Webb, PortMiami Director and CEO, added, “I am thankful to Global Traveler readers who voted for PortMiami for three consecutive years. I also want to acknowledge Mayor Levine Cava, the Board of County Commissioners, and our cruise line partners for their unwavering support to ensure PortMiami is the departure choice for cruise passengers.”
In Fiscal Year 2024, PortMiami welcomed a record-breaking 8.2 million cruise passengers, a 12.79% increase over the previous year. The port also made history on February 8, 2025, by hosting 10 cruise ships in a single day; and on Sunday, March 30, 2025, had its busiest cruise passenger day with 72,008 passengers.
