Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management 2025 Independence Day service schedule
The Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has outlined its service schedule for the Independence Day holiday to ensure residents are informed of changes to waste, recycling, and disposal operations.
Curbside Waste and Bulk Trash Collection
In observance of Independence Day, there will be no garbage collection on Friday, July 4, 2025. Residents with regular Friday pickups should refrain from placing their green waste carts curbside on that day. Instead, collection for these households will occur on the next scheduled pickup day, Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Bulk trash pickup will also be suspended on July 4, 2025.
Curbside Recycling Collection
Recycling services will proceed as normal on Friday, July 4, 2025. Residents with recycling pickup scheduled on that day should place their blue recycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m. as usual.
Disposal Facilities
The following DSWM facilities will be closed on Friday, July 4, 2025:
- All Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers
- Central, West, and Northeast Regional Transfer Stations
- All Home Chemical Collection Centers
- North Dade Landfill
The South Dade Landfill will remain the only disposal facility open on July 4, 2025, operating during its standard hours. Additionally, waste-hauling customers should note that the Medley Landfill will close early at 11 a.m. on July 4.
Administrative Offices
All DSWM administrative offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, 2025.
For additional details on the Independence Day holiday schedule, residents are encouraged to contact 311 prior to the holiday or visit miamidade.gov/solidwaste.
