Miami-Dade County to break ground on next phase of Perrine Village, expanding affordable housing for seniors in South Dade
On Tuesday, August 19, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Miami-Dade County Commission Vice Chairman Kionne L. McGhee will break ground on Phase II of Perrine Village, a new affordable housing development in South Dade.
Perrine Village II, a Atlantic Pacific Companies development, is the second phase of the Perrine Villas and Perrine Gardens public housing redevelopment. It will consist of two six-story affordable residential buildings, providing 150 mixed-income units for elderly residents of Miami-Dade. The units will include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. Amenities will feature a community space, fitness center, business center, and laundry facilities.
The first phase, Quail Roost Transit Village, which includes 200 units, is expected to be completed in the summer of 2026. The third phase, Perrine Village I, is located directly adjacent to Perrine Village II and received an award from Florida Housing in November 2024. Upon completion of all phases, the development will feature a total of 918 units.
Miami-Dade Housing and Community Development contributed $5,000,000 in funding for this phase from the Documentary Stamp Surtax and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs.
