Peguero Rivera [email protected] 305-471-1900 Operation Stolen Dream On Thursday July 31, 2025, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) Organized Crimes Bureau, Economic Crimes Section arrested two individuals for an organized scheme to defraud. On Thursday, July 31, 2025, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) Organized Crimes Bureau, Economic Crimes Section arrested two individuals for an organized scheme to defraud. The preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Nelson David Ochoa-Vasquez, who is a pastor at a local church (La Iglesia de Dios Jireh), used his position to introduce unsuspecting victims, who are immigrants seeking legal guidance, to an attorney. He would knowingly set them up to use the services of Mr. Ismer Gonzalez, who falsely claimed to be an immigration attorney. As a result, the victims paid the subjects for immigration services and incurred an approximate loss of $21,000.00. Detectives believe there are additional victims, and they are asking for them to come forward to report and/or provide any additional information about this case.
