Arrest Made in Connection to Murder of Missing Person
On Thursday, August 7, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO) Homicide Bureau detectives were contacted by Hialeah Police Department for assistance with a missing person case where foul play was suspected.
The investigation revealed that on Sunday, August 3, 2025, the victim, Mr. Daylon Fleitas Gonzalez, met with the suspect, Mr. Alfredo Carballo Gonzalez, in the area of 95 Avenue and NW 106 Street. The subject was seen entering the victim’s truck, where an altercation took place. Shortly after, the subject placed a recycling bin in the bed of the victim’s truck and drove it away, while being followed by an additional vehicle. It was later determined that the additional vehicle was driven by Ms. Ariely Alvarez Cabrera, the girlfriend of Mr. Alfredo Carballo Gonzalez.
On Friday, August 8, 2025, MDSO Homicide detectives, with the assistance of MDSO Air Support Unit, located the victim’s truck along with multiple items of evidentiary value. MDSO Homicide detectives then conducted an area canvass and located the recycling bin that the subject previously placed in the bed of the victim’s truck, with the victim’s lifeless body inside.
MDSO detectives immediately began their search for suspects, Mr. Alfredo Carballo Gonzalez and Ms. Ariely Alvarez Cabrera, who also had a 5-month-old baby with them.
UPDATE
On Monday, September 8, 2025, thanks to the assistance of the Broward Sheriff's Office, U.S. Marshalls, the Instituto de Imigracion and Customs and Border Protection, Ms. Ariely Alvarez Cabrera was taken into custody in Mexico and extradited back to Florida. MDSO investigators are happy to report that the baby has been recovered and is safe back in Florida.
Mr. Alfredo Carballo Gonzalez is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous. MDSO investigators are asking if anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Mr. Alfredo Carballo Gonzalez to please call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
