Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis Helps Provide Thanksgiving Meals to More Than 1,500 District 6 Families
In the spirit of service and gratitude, Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis joined community partners, volunteers, and local organizations to distribute turkeys, hams, and pies to more than 1,500 District 6 families ahead of Thanksgiving. The large-scale community distribution brought together residents, faith leaders, law enforcement, and local businesses, all working together to ensure families could celebrate the holiday with comfort and dignity.
“Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it gives us a chance to pause, give thanks, and show our gratitude to our families and loved ones,” said Commissioner Milian Orbis. “It also reminds us of the power of service and the difference we can make when we come together with purpose and care. I am grateful for every person who rolled up their sleeves and made sure each family felt welcomed and supported.”
This effort was made possible through the generosity and support of Alpha and Omega Church and Pastor Alberto Delgado, who graciously hosted the distribution, as well as the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office led by Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz. Volunteers spent the day helping their neighbors, greeting families, and ensuring that every resident left with not only a meal, but also a sense of support from their community."
Commissioner Milian Orbis also expressed sincere appreciation to the event’s contributing partners, including the Miccosukee Tribe of Florida, John Bell Construction, Univista Insurance, Walmart, and many others whose support helped make the drive a success. The event reflects Commissioner Milian Orbis’ continued commitment to serving District 6 families and strengthening community partnerships that uplift and support residents year-round.
