The port welcomed an unprecedented 8,564,225 cruise passengers, up from 8,233,056 the previous fiscal year, a 4.02% increase and the highest annual passenger count in the seaport&rsquo;s history. PortMiami also achieved another significant accomplishment in cargo performance. The port recorded 1,115,058 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), up from 1,089,443 TEUs the previous fiscal year, a 2.35% growth and marking 11 consecutive years exceeding one million TEUs.&nbsp;</p> <p>&ldquo;PortMiami&rsquo;s dual achievements highlight its dynamic role as both a cruise and cargo powerhouse, contributing billions to the local economy while advancing a future-ready vision of innovation, resiliency, and global connectivity,&rdquo; said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. &ldquo;Through strategic investments in infrastructure and technology, the port is enhancing its operational efficiency and ensuring long-term competitiveness.&rdquo; &nbsp;</p> <p>&ldquo;PortMiami&rsquo;s record performance across both cruise and cargo operations reflects the dedication of our entire team and the strength of our partnerships with the cruise industry, cargo carriers, and the business community,&rdquo; said Hydi Webb, PortMiami Director and CEO. &ldquo;As we continue to expand and modernize our facilities, our focus remains on providing safe, efficient, and resilient operations that support Miami-Dade County&rsquo;s economic growth and strengthen our position as a global gateway for travel and trade.&rdquo;</p> <p>The upcoming 2025-2026 season is filled with new cruise ships and projects. Among the new lineup of ships departing from PortMiami are Cunard&rsquo;s Queen Elizabeth and Virgin Voyages&rsquo; Brilliant Lady, October 2025; Holland America&rsquo;s Zuiderdam, Oceania Cruises&rsquo; Allura, November 2025; MSC Cruises&rsquo; Grandiosa, December 2025; Windstar Cruises&rsquo; Star Seeker, January 2026; Holland America&rsquo;s Eurodam, February 2026; Norwegian Cruise Line&rsquo;s Norwegian Luna, March 2026; and Silversea Cruises&rsquo; Silver Nova, May 2026.</p> <p>The port&rsquo;s cargo growth highlights the importance of infrastructure investments, including increased yard efficiency, technology, and connectivity. Cargo yard enhancements include completion of phase two of the Electric Rubber-Tired Gantry Crane (eRTG) Project, which will bring the total number of eRTGs in the South Florida Container Terminal to 18 allowing for higher stacking of containers and more efficient runs within the yard.
