MDFR is Hiring Fire Rescue Dispatcher Trainees
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) is now accepting applications for Fire Rescue Dispatcher Trainees through Jan. 12.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to become part of one of the nation’s most respected fire departments. MDFR is a world-renowned, Class 1 fire department and the 6th largest in the United States.
As Fire Rescue dispatchers, these professionals are the first point of contact at Miami-Dade Fire Rescue during emergencies, working behind the scenes, evaluating critical situations, ensuring the appropriate assistance is dispatched without delay. They provide a calm, reassuring presence during moments of crisis and play a crucial role saving lives when every second counts.
A fire rescue dispatcher is a valuable link to the public and to first responders who strive to protect and serve our community.
Fire rescue dispatchers are responsible for timely dispatching fire and rescue personnel to emergency and routine calls from citizens and require the operation of two-way radio transmitting equipment in a central communications network.
MDFR’s hiring campaign for the Fire Rescue Dispatcher Trainee position runs through Jan. 12.

- Must obtain a 911 Public Safety Telecommunication Certification within the one-year probationary period and maintain it throughout the employee’s career
Preference will be given to applicants with an associate or bachelor’s degree in Applied Science in Emergency Communications or a related degree and Computer Aided Dispatch experience.
Applicants must take and pass a typing test and a computer-based skills test.
Applicants must apply online at miamidade.gov/jobs using Job ID: 98087
