In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 19, 2026, the Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) will suspend regular curbside waste collection services.
Residents scheduled for pickup on that day should not place their green waste carts at the curb, as no collection will take place. Waste collection for those customers will resume on their next regularly scheduled service day, Thursday, January 22, 2026.
The following disposal facilities will be closed.
- All 13 Trash and Recycling Centers
- Home Chemical Collection Centers
- North Dade Landfill
- All three Regional Transfer Stations (Northeast, Central and West)
The following disposal facilities will remain open during their regular operating hours.
- South Dade Landfill (23707 SW 97th Ave, Homestead, FL 33032)
- WM, Inc.’s Medley Landfill (9350 NW 89th Ave, Medley, FL 33178)
DSWM administrative offices will also be closed in observance of the holiday.
Curbside recycling collection will continue on its normal schedule. Residents whose recycling day is Monday, January 19, should place only their blue recycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m. for regular pickup.
