The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating a shooting involving a deputy from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO).  At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, MDSO deputies from the Northwest District responded to the area of NW 189 Street and NW 55 Avenue regarding an adult female who was reportedly harming herself with a knife. Deputies attempted to establish a dialogue with the female.  During the altercation, a deputy discharged their service weapon, striking the female. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived on scene and the female was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. No deputies were injured. The investigation remains ongoing.  No further information is available at this time. MIAMI-DADE ( February 08, 2026 )–

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating a shooting involving a deputy from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO).
