Samantha Choon [email protected] 305-471-1900 MDSO Investigates Juvenile Shot in Hammocks District On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, just after 4:30 p.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) Hammocks District deputies responded to the area of SW 152 Avenue and SW 76 Street regarding a juvenile male that was shot. On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, just after 4:30 p.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) Hammocks District deputies responded to the area of SW 152 Avenue and SW 76 Street regarding a juvenile male that was shot. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old male were walking northbound on SW 152 Avenue near SW 80 Street, when shots were fired at them from an unknown vehicle.  The 15-year-old male was struck multiple times as the unknown vehicle fled the area. The victims continued northbound to SW 76 Street, where they stopped and called 9-1-1 for help.  Deputies immediately responded and provided first aid.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived on scene and transported the 15-year-old victim to a local hospital in stable condition.
