Real-Time Budget Dashboard Provides Fiscal Transparency Never Seen Before in Miami-Dade County

Today, pursuant to the Board’s approval of Resolution No. R-1087-25 at the November 4, 2025, meeting, the Office of the Commission Auditor presented Miami-Dade County’s new Budget Transparency Dashboard, a tool sponsored by Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins and designed to strengthen oversight, improve decision-making, and enhance fiscal accountability.

“As elected officials, we are entrusted with safeguarding taxpayer dollars and making informed decisions on behalf of our community,” said Commissioner Cohen Higgins. “This Budget Dashboard gives the Board a clearer, more comprehensive view of how funds are being allocated and spent, allowing us to govern with greater precision, transparency, and responsibility, especially as we prepare for tighter fiscal conditions."

“For too long, static reports and memos have limited our ability to receive up-to-date information. With this dashboard, we are stepping into a new era of governance, one defined by immediate access to information, real-time insights, and smarter, faster decision-making.”

The Budget Transparency Dashboard provides a centralized, user-friendly platform to:

• Monitor departmental spending, including warning indicators on Departments
• Review budget allocations in real time
• Analyze financial trends through visual data tools, including vacancies
• Support more informed and strategic budget decisions

The launch of the Budget Transparency Dashboard underscores Commissioner Cohen Higgins’ commitment to responsible financial management and proactive planning in the face of evolving economic challenges.
